Cannot see second partition on my external HDD

I recently removed a hard drive from my notebook and put it into a external case. Since I have done that, I can no longer see the second partition in the hard drive when connected to the USB.

Thanks in advance

More about cannot partition external
  1. Go to disk management and assign it a letter.
  2. Here are the instructions in case you do not know how to do that (ah-hem daship. :))

    XP:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308423
    Vista: http://www.windowsreference.com/windows-vista/how-to-use-disk-management-in-vista/
    7:http://www.windows7update.com/Windows7-Computer-Management.html

Once you have opened Computer Management, look to the far left and you'll see a list click on "Disk Management" In the middle center you'll see the partitions. Look for the one without a letter and then right click it. Select "Change Drive Letter and Paths..."
  3. I suggest to check it first with third party software to check if it is ok - like tuneup utilities or norton tools. The partition might be corrupted.
