Bought an off-lease Optiplex GX60 to revamp for a family member. I have installed a Syba SATA controller card in one of the PCI slot then plugged that into a WD 80GB HDD. Although the BIOS doesn't see the HDD it stops the boot process and gives the options of F1 to continue or F2 to enter Setup. So I was still able to boot to the XP Pro disc and load Windows on the HDD. The only problem that remains is that every time you boot up you have to press F1 to continue loading Windows. I know this may be a little anal to some but I'm trying to make this as simple as possible for my aunt and uncle. I already flashed the BIOS to version A09. Any ideas for a fix or work around in the BIOS.

It isn't anal. It's pretty irritating for geeks to keep on pressing something just to get boot to push through. I'm assuming you've explored all the options in your BIOS menus? There might be a setting that makes your PC pause at boot.
