this is my first build and was having some trouble deciding what kind of memory to get. im not really into intense gaming, but will probably play a few. i dont really understand the specs either, what is better, Timing 4-4-4-12 or Timing 4-4-4-15 and what do those numbers mean? the motherboard i picked out has Support for DDR2 1366+/1066/800/667 MHz memory modules i really didnt want to spend too much on memory. here is what i already had in thought

OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227267

CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184

Those timings are so close you would never see any differance. The OCZ is good memory. 2 things though The heat pipes may get in the way of some heat sinks, their rebates are slow and you need to read the fine print. I got mine but it took 3or 4 months to get it. On the Corsair don't know how good it is, but look close if you put it in your basket at check out.
The price on that stuff seems to change 3 or 4 time a day.

I have no experience w/ Gskill's memory, but I can say +1 for the Corsair memory. I have 4X1GB at 5-5-5-18, and had a 2X1GB pair that I gave to my brother, both work fine and have not failed me yet.
