I cant find my msn

Hello,i have windows xp.when i tried to check for my mail it asked for me to update to windows live essentials 2011.when i tried to do so it wouldnt download.it started to install the program and then it started to roll back the installation.then a box came up saying the installation failed.i attempted to install this sevseral times and im still getting the same outcome.i have now lost my original msn which i think was 2008 or 2009.please help a poor girl who isnt terribly computer illiterate.thanks karna

Windows Live Essentials 2011 is for Vista or Windows 7 only. There is a link for a version for Win XP on the WLE 2011 page. Or here it is:
