i was wondering what is the best ram frequency to match with my oc q9550 3.ghz
for now i'm at 1136mhz 2.08 voltage rams
fsb:ram ratio i think is 5:3 or 5:6

any advice from u guyz?

Here's a link to a thread where we discuss the advantages of a 1:1 ratio:

Having said that, overclocking your memory (for little practical gain) is limiting your CPU overclock.

With a decent CPU cooler and a decent case, you should be able to get up around 3.4 - 3.6 GHz with stability.

well i got 3.4 ghz for my q9550
with 400 fsb and 961 dram frequency if i'm not mistaken
i have corsair xms3 ddr3 1333mhz rams

so if i get 801 dram frequency to have 1:1 ratio with my fsb
i will get more performance?
thats what u mean?
and also use dram timings 5-5-5-15?

yestarday i was trying to get 3.6ghz but after 6hours, 2 cores were stoped working..
so i turned it to 3.4ghz wre i can easily reach it!

i have cooler master v8
totured my cpu yesterday
max tem are 54 54 54 54
room temp about 25+

idle low 30s high 20s

Sorry. I was assuming that You were using DDR2 RAM. I am not sure of the DDR3 timing needed with a Core2 CPU.

You are operating way under the capacity of your memory.

If you can sqeeze another 25 MHz out of your FSB, you will be able to just pass 3.6 GHz.

What is your VID and CPU core voltage?

Your max temperatures look good. So unless your vcore is at 1.3625 volts (Intel's recommended max), you do have room to increase your vcore.

vid?
what is it?

anyways my voltages for 3.4ghz are
cpu vcore 1.23
dram voltage 1.90
nb voltage 1.30
fsb termination 1.28

the rest auto

i was wondering why i cant get stable at 3.6ghz with 1.26 vcore
dram voltage 2.08
nb 1.30
sb 1.30
fsb termination 1.30

my dram frequency was 1136 with auto timings

any advice?

well i tried to get 3.6ghz but i failed to get it
2 cores were stoped working in 4 hours
vcore was 1.26 i think

i'll try to raise the voltge to 1.28

dram frequency 851 at 2.00 voltage
cpu pll 1.52
fsb term 1.30
nb 1.30

i think i dont have any problems with my rams so i'll just try to raise the vcore..

max temp was 53 50 51 54

maurick, Intel's recommended max voltage for a Q9550 is 1.3625 volts. So you still have alot of room to increase vcore. Just keep watching your load temps. You need to keep them below 70 C.

did it,,after 6 1/2 hours i am stable at 3.6ghz
6 hours is fine for me

specs
fsb freq- 426
dram freq-1364mhz
dram timings 8-7-7-15

voltages
vcore 1.28
dram voltage 2.10
cpu pll 1.54
nb voltage 1.34
sb voltage 1.20
fsb term voltage 1.36

max temps 55-53-54-56
idle lo 30s

i think my temps are good aswell!!

i tried to get 4.0ghz but i'm afraid to lower my cpu lifespan!!

next step is to oc my gpu

i cant install any tool though

''driver not compatible''

any idea?

my gpu vapor x 4850

actual clock 700/1120

need other gpu oc tool!!
