Forum Overclocking : CPUs Help wih Cpu cooler needed..

I have an Phenom II x4 965BE and I bought the Scythe SCKBT-1000 120mm Sleeve Kabuto and it says on the description that it's fan goes up to 2500rpms and that its controlled by PWM. I have no clue what PWM is but is there anyway I can control the fans rpms? Maybe in the Bios? It's only running at 1330 right now and I'm trying to overclock my cpu and am having trouble because I can't raise the voltage past 1.4v or it'll run at 60 degrees celcius or higher. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

PWM - pulse width modulation.

The motherboard should ber controlling the fan in response to the CPU temperature.

There should be an option in the BIOS to run the fan full speed.

Should those be my temps? I thought this was a decent cpu cooler, so far I'm dissappointed.

It might be, but I wouldn't buy one simply because of the sleeve bearing fan.

These two are real popular around here:
Sunbeam

Xigmatec Dark Knight

They both require a somewhat different approach to applying thermal compound.
Suggestions for applying thermal compound:

And they are pretty large, so they might not fit inside your case.

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
