Hey guys, I ran 3Dmark06 and my score was 16406 3DMarks. The 3rd simulation in the test (some kind of huge gate siege) didn't even get above 0-1 fps, which it tried to do twice! My system is this:

-Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU Overclocked to 3Ghz
- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
- Abit IP35 Pro XE Intel P35
- Corsair Dominator 4GB PC2-8500 CAS5 (2x2GB) Dual Channel Kit (Overclocked at 1000MHz+)
- 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 32MB
- ATi Radeon HD 4870 X2 2
- Corsair TX 650W Next Generation Power Supply

I'm sure this is pretty low right? I've read here that this test is somewhat biased to Nvidia cards, but even still, i'm sure that this result is below par. The only thing i've done with the GPU since i got it 2 weeks ago (along with the rest of the pc) is change a few things in Catalyst like quality, downloaded 8.9 drivers and altered the fan speed by following this guide:
http://www.custompc.co.uk/features [...] page1.html
I changed my percentage value from 0 to 40.

Would really appreciate some help on this as it's quite disappointing in my opinion
Thanks lads!

No, everybody gets 0-1 frames on that test.

All the graphics are ridiculously lowered so that it really stresses the CPU. That is why it is called the CPU test when it loads.

If i recall correctly, the 3rd simulation doesn't use the GPU. It is called a CPU test.

And so far, no CPU that i have seen has made better than 1 FPS. Try a game :)

Yup no one gets more then 1-2 frames on that test.

You card is right on par. Were you expecting miracles?

Your gonna have to OC your card and your CPU some more if you want to go higher scores.

My friend has a q6600 3.6 with 2 4870s and he got High 16,000s. He got a e8400 and overclocked it to 4.5, and now he gets 22000s.

put your q6600 around 3.6 and you'll see a big jump in your score...3dmark06 is very cpu dependent.

hehe... the highest i've gotten on that test is 4 fps

a q9550 at 3.85 ghz will do that... and a 4870 will give you a nice big 18k

Same 4 fps here, only for brief moments though. Every one of those little robots are driven by an AI, which makes it multithreaded and extremely taxing. Still, 0-1 fps is too low. You should at least hit 3 fps, if not 4, for brief moments.

3dmark 06 gives you 3 subscores, sm2.0, sm3.0, and cpu. Cpu score can skew overall score a lot, so it would help shed some light if you give your sm2.0 and sm3.0 shader model scores.

For 4870x2, 16406 is very low. Maybe it's only using 1 gpu?

Meh, 0.02v over limit, it'll be fine.

Lol, that was taken quite a while ago. It's been a while since I last posted it.

I could really care less, and I'm not impressed at all. 16000 is budget gamer these days.

Of course it is, that's the whole point. I post it in troubleshooting threads to illustrate that there actually is a problem. You're not supposed to be impressed by this 16k, you're supposed to be depressed by OP's 16k. :p
