So its been about 2-3 years since I've done my last system build, and I like to run the hardware I've got as long as possible.

Now its time for a little upgrade, and I've got a budget of 2300$, and not going a dime over, any comments on my build would be greatly appreciated.

Any comments on the build are greatly appreciated, I hope to finalize this build by September 12th, as that is when I will be making the order for all of the parts. As well I don't plan on spending under $2200.

what monitor do you have or are you going to buy one?

btw, very nice build. I am sure you will get recommendations but most will be personal preference. ie: I would recommend an X48 board with a 4870x2 GPU. But what you have is very good.

@mexpedip Im going to be purchasing a new 24" monitor here shortly, probably sometime next month, for the time being my 20" LCD should tide me over.

I asked because the size of the monitor (resolution) determines the need/benefit of sli or xfire. 24" would borderline but it would definately be future proof.

Well the 20" monitor I am running should be sufficient enough, although I wont get the full usage out of the video cards right away.

This system is taking a huge step forward from what I am currently running:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2GB DDR Ram
160GB HDD
ASUS nVidia 6800GT
450W PSU
