Hey guys, from my last post iv decided to get a GTX260 over the 9800gtx+ :)

people told me dat my corsair 750watt can run sli gtx260

anyways i live in aus and the prices r alil more expensive tho i need help to noe if its bang for buck

this has caught my eye

Zotac GTX 260 AMP! $ 370

Zotac GTX 260 core 216 AMP! $ 440

Cheapest gtx260 i can find :( rest is 400 or over

both have the same specs
core @ 650
192 Processor Cores @ 1400 MHz - 260
216 Processor Cores @ 1400 MHz - 260 core 216
2100 MHz memory clock

now the question is is the gtx 260 core 216 really worth the extra $70 more ?

im thinkin its not, however i want to see wat u guys think :)

i cant really find any benchmarks relating to BOTH video cards like (GTX260 AMP! VS GTX 260 CORE 216 AMP!)

your reply would be much appreciated :D

I would say NOT worth the difference in price.. and those are some ridiculous prices.. How much can you get a 4870 for down there?

Not worth $70 at all. Its about a 10 - 20% performance increase, where if the gtx 260 was a 1 and gtx 280 was a 2, it would be a 1.3.

You're going to pay $370-440 for a factory oced gtx260? :sarcastic:

How about $280 for a factory oced 9800gx2 to blow away that $440 gtx260?

dagger.. hes not in us... lol

9800gx2 would be the ideal choice, but are you plannign on getting two?????

if your getting two cards, than yes, consider SLI.. but if your not, don't, and you can consider the 4870
