Hey all,
I'm hoping someone can help me with a new graphic card problem.

My current system is as follows

xps 410
nvidia 8300 gs
4 gigs of ddr 2dr ram

I bought a 8600 gt and installed it as the manual said too. Unfortunately, nothing happens. A signal never gets to my monitor. Reading some other threads, the only thing I can determine is maybe the 8600 gt 1 gig card I bought is doa, but before I go return it, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. According to everything I have read, the 8600 gt doesn't require being attached to the power supply.

FYI I'm using a pci-e slot for the card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had this issue before on an older system. Turns out my psu just wasn't producing enough power. If you can try a different psu I would do that first. This is much more likely than a doa card.
