Hello everybody

I have an AMD X2 6000, but I'm not seeing two graphs in the cpu usage tab. I started to notice a big drop off in performance and I knew it couldn't be viruses, because I know my pc is clean. Could a core have died or gone bad somehow? I have Windows XP Pro and 3 gigs of ram on a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H mobo. Thanks for your help.

Did you have 2 CPU usage graphs before?

Will running the dual core patch or update help?

I don't know if 1 core going out or dying would keep the CPU working. I guess it could still work, in theory. If you have another system that you can pop the CPU in, that would be my way of checking the CPU, if it was good or not.

Yes, I did have 2 graphs before. I just don't know what the problem is. I'm really starting to miss the blazing performance. Please help me.

If you did have 2 graphs before, then something could have affected your CPU and/or mobo.

If you have a way to check the CPU, by installing it into another system, you could see if it still shows 2 usage graphs there. Otherwise, I don't have any other method of safely checking your CPU if it's good.
