8:00 PM 9/25 - GTX260 installed in case (using two 6 pin power inputs), new drivers (178.13 - just released yesterday) installed
8:30 PM 9/25 - GPU-Z reveals correct clocks/card info, great temps and correct Nvidia drivers.
8:35 PM 9/25 - 3dMark06 - Normal scores (verified with web site benchmarks). About 13,300 total (stock e8400, 4 GB Ram, GTX260 and Vista Home Premium 32-bit)
8:40 PM 9/25 - Oblivion - Buttery at max settings. However, I could no longer force AF+AA through Nvidia's Forceware. In fact, it did not seem like the Forceware settings were having any effect on any element of the game.
8:50 PM 9/25 - Bioshock - Notably worse performance in comparison to my 9600GT. Definitely should not have been happening. Additionally, similiar to what happened with Oblivion, it did not seem like the Forceware settings were having any effect on any element of the game (ex - I tried forcing AF (in both DX10 and DX9 mode) and AA (in DX9 mode of course).
9:00 PM 9/25 - Defragged computer and went to bed.
12:40 PM 9/26 - Doubting defragging did anything and hoping someone on Tom's can help me out.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, which fixed my Forceware problem. I then decided to look at my keyboard when I tested Bioshock. Sure enough, I was walking as opposed to running (Ctrl). Smooth, I know.
Regardless, thanks for the response. It pointed me in the right direction.
