Is the 4870 x2 equal to the 280i?

If they are why does the 280i cost just as much as a 4870 x2? Why would you spend the same amount for one as you do for two?

By 280i did you mean gtx280? If so, 4870x2 outperforms gtx280. It also cost $530 instead of $420. No surprises there.

However the 9800gx2 does outperform gtx280 for $280.

i would say the 280 is a solid step behind the x2. i dont know where your looking at prices though. i can get a 280 for 100-150 cheaper.
