I am at the planning stage on my next computer. I have picked out an AMD Athlon 64 x2 5400 black edition (Price, before you ask) as as a decent middle of the road CPU, with lots of oc head space, but am stuck on the mobo. I would like something relatively cheap but stable, Hybrid SLI capable with a built in HDMI connector, DDR2 1066. Otherwise, pretty open minded on this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
As a second thought, what would be an equivalent Core 2 duo (performance wise)? The additional cost of the heat sink and fan which is not included in the black edition might tip the balance towards Intel. Thanks.

I'm fairly sure that DDR2 1066 only runs at 1066 with an AM2+ CPU (which are the Phenoms). Given that, the ASUS M3N78 PRO would be a good choice for $105.

Newegg doesn't offer an SLI capable Intel mobo with an HDMI connection. So if those two things are absolute necessities, that kinda makes your intel/amd choice pretty easy.
