I have this fairly old usb wireless adapter that I use to connect to my att dsl service... the wireless router is a 2wire 2701HG-B, and the adapter is some generic POS, not sure of brand... using on a vista 64 ultimate home built machine... Abit IP35-E, E2160@ 2.8Ghz, GSkill 8Gb ram, HD3870.

Now I'm in the market for a new adapter... I would like to do online gaming as well but wired solution is NOT an option for me... my questions:

1. I have several d-link routers sitting around... is it possible to connect my DLink Router to the 2wire dsl router wirelessly so I can connect a short network cable to the dlink router and have internet access?? If this is possible it will solve all of my problems without spending a dime!!!!

2. If "1" is not possible... what wireless adapter should I purchase? any recommendations?

3. the problem i'm having with my current adapter is that if I'm doing anything online intensive such as gaming, downloading via p2p, or streaming videos, after a few minutes my internet connection is lost and the only fix is a system reboot... I'm assuming this is an adapter issue and not a vista issue related to the config free and all that...correct?? I'm also assuming this is not an ATT DSL issue, because I seldom have problems on my other computers in terms of lost connection (however I don't use the other computers for heavy internet stuff)..

thanks for your help!!
