All sata drives use the same data and power connectors. If your motherboard and power supply support sata you'll be fine.

You need a mounting kit to install a 2.5" HDD into a 3.5" HDD bay..

wouldn't it fit into a floppy disk bay if you got one?

I actually did the same thing in my new build. Only, I had an old 2.5" 160GB SATA drive from a laptop laying around. I figure rather than let it collect dust, why not use it for MP3 storage.

Similar to the bracket jaguarskx posted, I used this set from MicroCenter (a little cheaper, if you have one nearby, and I like it because it simply goes on the side, and doesn't cover the top or bottom of the drive.

On a side note, I also used these same brackets for mounting my 2.5" SSD drive as well.

No, a floppy drive bay is 3.5", but there are adapters for this as well. I'm sure Newegg has them, but here's a quick one I found on Google. Oops - forgot the link --> http://www.addonics.com/products/io/aa25ide35.asp

Yes, 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard drives take the same SATA cable & Power Cable. (only in laptops, it's usually soldered to the board, that's why you can just slide / click it into place).
