Hey All,

I am looking to do an upgrade to my Mobo + Processor + RAM + Video Card + PSU

Between those 5 pieces my budget is $700 max.

I plan to use this system to play games like WoW, Warhammer Online, and Age of Conan at high graphics with zero lag. The one thing I hate more than anything else is when I get into big pvp fights with a bunch of people on the screen, and then I lag all to hell. That is why I want this new system.

Here is the upgrade I am planning to get...

SAPPHIRE 100242-1GL Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card...

ASRock P45R2000-WiFi LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Corsair VX 550W ATX Power Supply

All together, the total is $656.85

I'd like to get some input from you folks on whether you'd say this is a nice upgrade overall for the money.

I appreciate your input, thanks much!

If I were you, I would change the motherboard to a Gigabyte P45. ASRock is not very reputable. Actually, I owned one of their boards before getting my Gigabyte: the difference is night and day. The overall quality of the board (as well as the excellent BIOS) won me over.

Otherwise, the build looks great. Make sure to grab a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 CPU cooler to overclock your E8400 (that chip is made to overclock).

Reply to Cpt Deadboots

wow i personally really like your rig a 9.0/10

here is where i counted off

first dead boots is right get the Gigabyte board unless wifi is just that important but then you can get a card so... (-.5)

next i would get some aftermarket cooler for your CPU the xigmatek is a great cooler and you should be able to push 4ghz easy (-.3)

and finally i counted this least because it is pereferance i like corsair more than adata so i would spend the about 5 dollars on the brand name (-.2)

overall a great build and your MMOs should fly (depending on your internet)
happy PvPing
