Is there a big difference between a video card with DDR2 or DDR3?
If I'm not into extreme gaming I probably don't need one with a lot of memory.
I was thinking about getting a video card with 256mb to 512 mb, is that enough to do seroius photo editing?
My computer is going to have at least 2 gb of ram as soon as I build it.
Thanks for any advice on this topic.

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but if I am not mistaken, i think that not only a low-end video card will suffice but i seem to recall hearing that on-board video is more than adequate and that money is better spent on more ram and a better cpu. I you are still gonna go with a video card anyway such as for gaming and such, a radeon 4350 will be perfectly fine for your photo editing, and will suffice for some gaming on low to medium settings and resolutions. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127391 that's only $35 (approx $43 shipped). But again, highly recommended that you go for more ram. espcially since, as a tomshardware article has mentioned, the price for 4 gig kits have gone down significantly in the past month. You can get 4 gigs for about $40, or $45 for tighter timings. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122
