Memory questions

I have 2x1gb corsair xms 2 800mhz ram. I was wondering why does it show me 400mhz on each ram and not 800. i was thinking that it may be EIST. not sure. I did manually set the speed at bios to 800 but still same. thanks

It shows the base clock not the effective clock. DDR means double data rate.

400 x 2 = 800 effective.
