Help with ati 4850 with crysis warhead

Hey, I have an ASUS ati 4850 and I just bought crysis warhead. On the main menu of the game things will randomly flicker and when I try to play it will randomly crash to my desktop about every 60 seconds. The screen just goes black and then Im back at my desktop and it says some CCC stuff about a VPU recover. Is this a driver issue? If so what should I download to make it stop, I have tried this with the 8.8 and 8.9 drivers. If not, I would like to know how to make it stop anyways.

My build if it helps:

Cpu: Athlon 64 X2 5000+
Gpu: Asus ati 4850
Ram: 4g corsair ddr2 800
Psu: 500w
Mobo: Asus M2a-vm
OS: XP 32bit
HDD: 150g WD raptor

It does not crash with the original crysis or any of my other games!

My power supply came with my case so im pretty sure it's a corsair, it's a very solid unit 12V+ and such. I have not overclocked my CPU and It seems my psu can handle other things like playing the original crysis while playing music, bowsing the web and other things.

I have my fanspeed up as well and my card idles at 45C so thats obviously not the issue.

Hmm interesting, I had the CCC crashed and recovered before; but that was before I did the fan hack and it was running like 98c in CCC!!

What driver version do you have?
