ok, well i'm building a new comp to replace my 4 year old rig, and im looking for advice on a few parts.
-cpu C2D wolfdale E7300
-gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L motherboard
-MSI GTX260
-4gb(2x2gb) g-skill DDR2 1066 ram

also after reading the How To: Get A 4 GHz Dual-Core For $120 i decided to go with the E7x00 series cpu but i would like to know if the 7300 will over clock as easy as the 7200, note i am just looking for a slight over clock something like how they got to 3.16 on the 7200.

so with the fact that i obviously don't know too much any suggestions and ideas are welcome.

Splendid
That looks like a very well balanced, capable system.

The 7300 should OC just as easily as the 7200 but with the potential for a higher overclock due to it's higher multiplier. Don't forget to replace the stock cooler!

I'm not sure how the P43 chipset compares to P45 for OC or features, but hopefully someone else will chip in here.

The e7300 is a decent chip and should overclock nicely for you.
The extra .5 bump on the multiplier may help you get a slightly higher max overclock.
If the price between the two is close, go for it.
I would agree that you should get an upgraded cooler for it.

The P43 is a dumbed down P45 but it is still a very able overclocker.
You should have no issues getting a great overclock out of your CPU.

DDR2 1066 is overkill.
You will see no real world difference between it and DDR2 800.
Save some $$ here.

The GTX 260 is not a bad card but you can do better.
A 4870 will cost about the same and offers better performance in most games.

Do not forget to get a Quality PSU!
This is one component you do not want to skimp out on!
A 500w+ Corsair, PCP&C, Seasonic, Enermax or Antec Earthwatts PSU is what you should look into.
