Alright, I just ran into about $700 dollars and I'm looking to upgrade my PC.
To start off, I already have a monitor, OS, case, and 350W PSU. My overall goal is to have a perfectly compatible PC and have 0 build problems. I'm looking to basically build the best high-end computer for the dollar. If you can suggest better parts for the money please suggest it though I can't go much higher on the total. I hear that G.Skill memory is great for overclocking and I'm looking to run 1:1 if possible.

avoid open box, and theres no way a 350 watt power supply can power that system. the 4850 requires at least 450. forget the 790FX board, get a 790GX instead. also, im not sure why you're calling this a high end system. one, it's $700, thats considered budget, and two, you're getting a phenom.

Is the 790GX better than the 790FX northbridge? is it because the 790FX is still buggy? I will buy another PSU i thought you guys would say that. My reason for calling it high end is you should see what I have :-) and also its basically close to the best amd has to offer. Whats wrong with phenom? If there is something better for the price let me know and I'll consider a change.

the 790GX is newer and quite a bit better. it allows higher overclocking and other benefits. tom's did an article on it not too long ago. And as for the phenom thing, i've got nothing against amd (i have an athlon x2 system atm) but the phenom just isn't as fast as the core 2. if you want the absolute best, consider maybe a P43 board and a Q6600.

Newegg has the 4850 with a $15 rebate, but make sure your case can handle a large graphics card. Also, the 4850 runs pretty hot, so you might want to invest in something like the Gfx Chilla 4.
The 790GX has a better southbridge, the SB750, and that is what allows for the better overclocking ability. The north bridge of the 790GX only allows you to have 2 8xPCI-E slots while the 790FX allows for 2 16xPCI-E slots or 4 8xPCI-E slots. Since you only have $700 total and if you don't plan on using crossfire then you may want to go with a board based on the AMD 770 that can support 140W CPUs. You could also go with something like what I have, the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 for 124.99 which can support the Phenon 9950 (after a BIOS update).
I say go with a 9850 Black edition, which is strangely for only 174 right now on new egg, and save a little money. You could also go with the 8750 for only 139. You need to save some money somewhere so that you can get a decent power supply. An Antec True Power Trio TP3-550 550W will set you back 49.99 from New Egg and has free shipping.
The rest of the components seem fine. A Radeon 4850 is the way to go right now though you shouldn't discount the Nvidia 9800 (basically the 8800) series of video cards since you can get a 9800GT for only 129.99. Of course the money to go up to the Radeon 4850 is more than worth it. You should also consider going with 4GB of DDR2 800 since the performance gain over 1066 memory isn't as good as using that money for a better processor or GPU.

Alright, I think I may have decided to go with this combo on the mobo/cpu. the Asus P5Q Pro / E8500. Also I will go with your recommendation of the 550W Antec PSU. Now my question is what would be the best memory for this combo?
