Which graphics card should I choose for a casual gamer? =) Why? Thanks. Both use Nvidia and have 1GB DDR2 memory.

9600gt is far faster than 9500gt. Don't get 1gb ddr2 version, get 512mb ddr3 version.

Why not 1GB DDR2 but 512MB DDR3?

the 9600 GT doubles the 9500 GT in some benchies:P...most notably would be the COD4 benchies.

And you can find the 9600 GT about the same price as a 9500 GT.

The 9600 GT is a Mainstream card while the 9500 GT is a low-profile card.

Do you have a spedning limit? Because if you can egg out a little more cash you can find a 8800 GT which performs 15-20% better tha the 9600 GT.

You wuold have to OC a 9600 GT ALOT to come close to matching 1 8800 GT..its been done but I want to stress alot:)

the 9600 GT OCX (which is heavily OCed) performs the same or a little lower than 1 stock 8800 GT:|

The DDR3 version is faster. Eventually games will use 1GB or video RAM, but by that time that card will be too slow to play them. Don't even look at the 9500GT. If you don't want to spend the money on a 9600GT then look at a Radeon 4670 since it's much faster than the 9500GT.
