HI,
Looking to upgrade an old rig for cheap. Was thinking about buying a Ati HD 3850 for my Intel 875PBZ mobo but heard that theres some compatibility issues between the two. This wasnt from a reliable source and I was wondering if any of you fine ppl know anything about it.
I also have a DFI Lanparty UT nF3 board that I could use instead of the 875PBZ.

If theres no hope for the HD 3850, could you suggest some cards that might work? Nothing above $140ish though....
Does anyone know any good sites to check for compatibility issues between different hardware choices?

Thanks!

From the Intel website,
What add-in AGP cards can be used?

The D875PBZ AGP socket is keyed for Universal 0.8 AGP cards that comply with the AGP 3.0 specification or 1.5 V AGP cards that comply with the AGP 2.0 specification.
The AGP connector supports 8x, 4x AGP 3.0 add-in cards operating at 0.8V, or 4x,1x AGP 2.0 add-in cards operating at 1.5V.
Note: There is no support for AGP 2x operation or legacy 3.3V AGP cards.

Also pulled this from another forum thread.

Hey guys, new to the forums! I've got a question for you guys.

Seems like my brand new HIS ICEQ TURBO AGP 3850 isnt performing to it's full potential. It's getting really low frames in TF2 (25 or 30) with settings only on medium-low at 1650x1080. I've got the latest hotfix drivers from ATI (8.6 or 7 can't remember exactly). Here are the rest of my system specs:

Pentium 4 3.0ghz w/ HT
INTEL D875PBZ motherboard (downloaded latest BIOS and chipset update yesterday)
3gig system ram (512x2 corsair xms and 1gigx2 ocz LL high performance)
HIS ICEQ TURBO AGP 3850

Let me know if yall need any other specs.

Its dated last month so it would seem that it does work. Here is a link to the thread so you can follow it through.
