Yet another SSD and 500G HDD question

Just built a new computer and am having trouble finding the 500G Hard drive.

I see both the SSD and 500G in bios but can not select the 500g drive to store stuff on.

Sorry for the noob question but first time I have bothered with 2 internal drives.

Is it configured properly i the bios (IDE, AHCI, etc)
Is the 500G formatted and partitioned?
Run, diskmgmt.msc and that should show you your drive - it will allow you to partition it and format it - then it will be available as D:
