I haven't really OC'd anything before. I might in the future to get an extra year or so out of my comp, but nothing immediate.

CPU - Phenom 9950BE - $179.99

Mobo - MSI K9A2 Plat $149.99

Not necessarily sold on going AMD for CPU, but they seem cheaper. The mobo is a bit pricey. Should I go with a cheaper 790GX board? Maybe an Intel/P45 combo? I'd like the option to Xfire in the future, so I'd rather not go P43.

Ram - OCZ Reaper 2x2GB 1066 - $129.99

I'll probably load up a full 8GB shortly. Should I just go with DDR 800 and stick the extra money elsewhere?

Case - Sunbeam Transformer - $69.99

I'm liking the cost, the space, and the 4 fans. In the future I'll probably be adding a few drives.

PSU - Corsair 750W - $129.99

HD - Western Digital 500GB SATA 3gbs - $74.99

GPU - Sapphire 4870 - $269.99

Standard CD/DVD RW, already have monitor, keyboard, etc etc.

OS is another $100 for a 64bit Vista.

Suggestions?

Since, you're buying a 4870, I'll assume you're using the computer for gaming. Since there aren't many games that use all 4 cores, I'd say switch the cpu and motherboard out for something favoring the intel side. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, you could get a p45, x38, or x48 motherboard and I'd recommend a e8x00 dual-core cpu. Also, I'd stay with DDR2 800mhz ram mostly because it's cheaper, but also because you can sync it 1:1 with your fsb if you plan on overclocking in the future.

Everything else looks good.

Hope that helps.
