**update** to video card feezing.

A few days ago I wrote about my game screens (fps and racing) going black, then dumping me to Windows with an error, "display driver not responding"

Cysis would freeze for about 10 seconds with a black screen, then came back...the inconsistant freezes occurred about every 30 steps of my character. It would freeze in cutscenes too. Dirt was freezing, and not responding...leading back to Windows...

(Curiously; FS10, GTR2, and GTA-SA ran great...tried to push them, but no freezing)

Anyhoo...I bought Cyrsis Warhead before the weekend, but sat on it...would tick me off if it kept freezing, but never found the root of the problem...

Said screw it, and loaded Warhead Sat. night....the cutscenes looked perfect, ran perfect...held my breath the whole time...game played flawlessly for about 40 minutes until I saved and went to bed! Not one freeze....

This rules out: heat, faulty video card, or faulty PSU....

I'm pointing to the drivers, although I have reloaded them 50 times (DX9, Nvidia display drivers, and DivX)...

I share this info. so as to help anybody else who is trouble shooting...and selfishly, to give as much info as possible to anybody that can assist me with the freezing in the games that were previously loaded before I loaded Warhead...

It's the game. ( sometimes it runs good and then it won't ) It was supposed to be optimized to run better than Crysis but they lied. Lots of people are having trouble with that game. Hopefully a patch will come along to help fix it. Messing with your in game settings should help you a little bit.
