I have had a wireless network set up in my home for awhile (Dlink) and have had no problem connecting with my Gateway laptop. I just recently purchased a refurbed Dell laptop and every time it connects to my wireless network, I lose the internet on my Gateway. The Gateway is still connected to my router, but not to the internet. As soon as I power down the Dell, my Gateway has internet access again. What can I do to fix this?

It may be possible that there is some sort of IP address conflict. Check the ip address of gateway laptop first [when the internet connectivity]? Then connect the Dell laptop to the internet and see what ip address it obtains from the Dlink router. While the dell is still connected to the internet, test what the ip address is for the gateway laptop. You can also check the settings on your Dlink router? To see if the DHCP server on the router is up and running....Hope this info is of some help to you. :p
