Hey I'm dusting off that second PCI slot on my old 680i LT and wonder what I should put in it. The following sets ups have about a $30 difference between them, so price does not matter. What should I get 8800 GTS 512 SLI or 8800 GTX SLI? These are the best set ups for the money, I just can't decide between them. I have heard that there will be no more driver tweaks for the 8800 GTX or all G80 Nvidia cards, but the 8800 GTS and all G92 cards are still being tweaked. I will need this system for some 1920x1200 res gaming. Is there a difference between them, will the G92s perform on par with the G80, will the extra memory and mem bandwidth give the G80s the edge at that resolution, or does it even f&%king matter at this point? What do you guys think? I am leaning towards the 8800 GTS G92s since I am not certain there will be much of a performance difference and they seem the more "stable" solution.

Here's g80 vs g92 on single cards:

As for memory bandwidth, it matters. As you can see, g92 8800gts outperforms g80 8800gtx without AA, while it's the other way around with AA. That is due to memory bandwidth difference. Although resolution don't seem to be affected by this.

Between the 2, I'd pick g92 8800gts, as it's better supported, runs cooler, overclocks better and is usually cheaper than g80 8800gtx. But if you manage to find 8800gtx for cheaper, it's fine to get it. They're about the same in performance.
