Hey guys,
I recently posted a build for a workstation for my dad.
It consists of:
Antec P182 + Antec Signature 650watt PSU
P5Q Deluxe
Q9550 stock no OC
4 gigs Corsiar ram
2 9800GTX+s
2x 250 drives (Raid 1)
Windows XP Pro

I build the system and got it running last night. Today I went to load windows and as its setting up (BOOM) BSOD...uh oh (voltages on ram were 2.1v like stated). So I set the voltage to auto and try again. This time it finishes and goes to startup and BOOM another BSOD. This is where Im baffled. Im running memtest86+ atm to see if the ram is corrupted and appears to be clean.
Otherwise in BIOS everything is auto, voltages, speed everything.
Using the matrix storage i set the 2 250 drives in Raid 1.

Is there anything else that could be causing this problem? I dont have any secondary parts on hand to try sadly

This may sound silly, but pull 2GB of that RAM, then try to install Winblows (Vista I presume). If installing XP, make sure AHCI is not enabled (XP hates this).

Try to get the actual error from the BSOD and do a little google research, (or post) it might help point to your problem.

Otherwise, You may also want to check the installation media. If you are using a CD that has been kicking around for a while, that could be part of your problem. As silly as it sounds, I have experienced a similar issue, where I would get BSOD's while installing XP, and ended up swapping out practically every component. Finally tried using a different windows CD, install went flawlessly.

K, update....

Memtest brought up no errors one pass so i tried what IH8U (i started it back up for the time being)
i remember that there was a 4 gig problem so i tried 2 and BSOD.
Also its a brand new disc (i kno gasp!!!) and it is SP3

But i noticed, auto voltage has the cpu at 1.18v that seems RLY low, but b4 i had an E2180 that was at 1.35 and this is my first penryn so maybe its right

Well i googled the blasted error code and it has something to do with the harddrives but i dont understand their language lol

error code: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Edit: Ok i read some websites and it has something to do with drivers for the sata raid. and AHCI (but i dont know how to fix it)
They said patch it or run the drivers off a floppy....WHICH I DONT HAVE!!! AGH!!
