Need the configuration for home office use

I need to buy a system for home office use. I will be using the system for MS office programs; sometimes adobe illustrator or photoshop like programs. Also listening music. Not for Gaming. but may watch some video online. definitely internet surfing, email and downloading (not videos).

Could anybody please suggest me a configuration (cheaper and best) which can be used for at least 3 years without upgrading? Also, what about AMD processors?

Go for dell. They may ship to India. They've had some great deals lately, including a quad core q6600 with 3 gigs of ddr2 for around $400. Check slickdeals or fatwallet weekly. The deals change on Wednesdays.
