Adjust size of active window

Windows did an update and now my screen only shows half , the upper half, of the window, I can maxamize but it is a pain to do it everytime Hav tried several suggestions from teh web to no avail. Help!!!

After you open the window, maximize it then close it again. It should open to max size upon reopening.

Actually this didn't work...a friend told me to max it then go to file and exit there, that did it!!!
