i have a router in my living room, and a computer on the second floor on the opposite side of the house. :) i wanted to run that computer on the network, and we cannot go wireless(concrete studs, horrible reception). we do not use the phone system in our house(only three jacks work). of the three working jacks, one is by the router, and the other is in the room i need to network. is it possible to crimp the leads from both rooms together at the access box and send my ethernet that way with a custom rj-45 to rj-11 cable?

consider purchasing a pair of powerline adaptors.

instead of using your phone line, it runs over the power lines in your house, if you are sourcing them locally id suggest going with somewhere with a good returns policy as it works in some houses better than others.
