I have 3 sticks of DDR1 kingston RAM for 2 years now and they work well, so I decided to buy some for my friend's new PC.

KVR667D2/1GR is the model name

However, a search for KVR667D2/1GR on kingston.com yields no results. I just want to make sure that the

He is getting is compatible with that RAM.

According to kingston.com, that particular RAM is not among those listed as compatible with the gigabyte motherboard.

I would get at least PC6400/800MHz memory since there is virtually no cost difference these days. You should probably also get 2x1GB since you can find sets on newegg for about $20. Even if you don't go with either recommendation, that Kingston memory should be compatible with the board. Virtually all ram (of the proper type) is compatible with virtually all motherboards, companies just don't have the time to check every combination for compatibility.
