Hi.. ok i have onboard sound card the motherboard is Asus A8N SLI and the sound which comes from it is decent.. i have Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System as well as sennheiseser hd555 headphones.. i think i would get some improvement overall in music as well as in games.. i already hear people sneaking behind me.. so do you think its worth it?

It will give you an improvement but nothing overly drastic. I have never really bothered with sound cards as modern integrated chips have come a long way over the last few years. If I was you invest your money into something else unless you deem It absolutely essential for your gaming and bragging rights .etc

thanks .. that did cross my mind.. and i though it would be better to invest in good graphic card rather than a sound..

You hear a difference with those Senns, but it wont make a difference with those speakers. Don't worry about the sound.

I went from onboard sound (X38) to the Xonar DX and the difference is night and day! The bass is my music is so tight and there is not distortion when the bass is deep. I would highly recomend it. It's only like £50. Well worth it in my opinion!
