which card is better the gtx 260 FTW version or the 216 cores ? am getting one in the next 2 weeks and i cant decide

Well if they are about the same price, the 216 is the smart choice, because the "FTW" card is just OC'd, which you can do with the 216 core one.

am not an expert with ocing but if the 216 with precision overclocking utility then i think i'll get it , but ive seen reviews where the ftw comes comes to the gtx 280 !

The Core 216 variant WILL be faster than the FTW version as it has one more node on the chip enabled.
Overclocking them is a cake walk.
All you need is RivaTuner.
