Here is what I am thinking about for a first build. I would like to keep it under $500 if possible but then again things always change.

I realize I don't have a video card listed but will the onboard video on this motherboard work or do I need a video card? Or can I wait and get one later?

About $570, but completely worth it. Biggest differences with your setup is that this one has a decent PSU, the motherboard is 790GX+SB750 which will allow you easier overclocking on Phenom chips once you decide to drop one in, and you have a graphics card capable of running games at medium resolutions (1440x900 - 1680x1050).

if you wish do do any kind of gaming you might shell out for a $60 card, that way you can do a little gaming

Seriously, don't bother with that case. Built-in power supplies are rarely any good, especially if they are from those guys. Get yourself a seperate power supply (you won't need much with an IGP). Speaking on integrated graphics, while that will be fine for general use, you didn't say what games you wanted to play. That will have trouble with more recent titles.
