I will be reusing a 1t Barracuda hardrive that has Windows xp 32. The OS I will use for the new build is OEM Windows 7 64. If I need to format my old hardrive to use it in the new build how do I go about doing it? Thanks for any help I can get. This is the prefered method; as Windows 7 creates partitions differently than older versions or third-party software. A quick format should be fine; simply first delete all partitions, then hit enter on the "unpartitioned space" that remains. | Report abuse Ask the community Publish Tom's Hardware>Forum>Storage>Do I need to format my harddrive?> Related ressources: ForumComputer can't find 3tb hard-drive , so can't format drive ForumNeed to Format Harddrive ForumDo i need to format my harddrive ForumHow format /configure a new Hard-drive with Vista 32 ForumChanging the format of an external harddrive ForumWindows ME install stuck after harddrive format !
