I got my Chistmas early and installed. I was able to increase my overclock from 3.4 to 3.6 The VID is 1.1000 - 1.3000. I ran prime 95 for 8 hrs, and two 1 hrs test of linpack with no errors. My temps have dropped about 3c. Here is a screen shot of Prime 95 small FFTs, could you guys take a look at my numbers and offer any input or suggestions.

I'm using an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 pro, with AS5 paste. Temps are OK and this is a stable OC. I run it 24/7 and it hasn't crashed on me yet. I have been looking at the X48's, but unless the price drops... . Thank you for the reply, what MB do you suggest? I prefer Gigabyte or Asus. I just ordered a XFX HD5770 "egg shape" video card, and it should be here tomorrow. I really am satisfied with this OC, it seem to be a good "moderate" boost, @ 27% over stock.

well... i would recommend the ASUS Striker II Extreme (nForce 790i chipset). in my oppinion its the very best you can get with an LGA 775 socket even if you dont have any intention to ram 3 GeForce-s into it. it OCs incredibly, while northbridge temps stay way down, supports ddr3 up to !2000mhz!, dual network adapters (one of my favourite features on my n780i striker II formula :D ), the I/O panel has everything youll ever need in terms of connectivity, but see and decide for yourself, heres a link. check it!

if u reached a stable 3.6 on the p35, imho, with this "mofo" u can get to 4 and above...easy :)
lemme' know what u think.

helevole, why on earth would someone buy a new LGA775 motherboard for anything but a replacement for a dead one?

The only reason I would consider it is for SLI. I spend the most time on this machine. I have another with an Athlon II 245 Regor @ 3.480 ghz, and three monitors, but this quad core is such a brute, that I prefer it with a 32" LCD TV to game and model on. Since I can't SLI on the AMD chipset, I have thought about getting a MB that will SLI for a 9800 GT and a 8800 GT that will be freed up with the new 5770. And down the road, get another 5770, and I will be SLI and cross fire in both system. Then I could look at a Phenom 955 BE...... JANE, STOP THIS CRAZY THING!!!! J A N E !

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
