I originally had 2 x 1GB G.Skill 800Mhz DDR2 RAM. I got some free Patriot RAM labeled as 2 x 2GB 800Mhz RAM. I added these two sticks to my mobo, so now all 4 slots are taken up. I'm supposed to have 6GB RAM total, but Vista Business 64-bit's welcome center only reports 4GB. I confirmed with CPU-Z (64-bit edition) that the two new Patriot sticks are both reporting as 1GB.

Is this a case of mislabeled product or is something wrong with my motherboard (in signature below)?

I tried the two patriots by themselves. They come up as 2 x 1GB.

Hypothetically, if one of these sticks is busted and it's just running as 1 x 1GB alongside my working G.Skill 2 x 1GB, will that slow down my system since it's not doing the dual channel thingy?
