I'm having a problem with a couple of similar PCs (click here if you fancy trying to help) and in order to rule an outdated BIOS as an issue I'd like to do a BIOS update but have no idea how to do it.

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Socket AM2 Nvidia MCP55P PCI-E 8 Channel audio ATX Motherboard

Current BIOS version is FF:

What do I need to do to update the BIOS. Do I use Q-Flash which is an option when I load up the PC?

If your MOBO supports it, DO NOT be tempted to use @BIOS - you WILL eventually fry your board!

Put the bios on a flash drive, and use QFlash, I used a flash drive to do mine.

Features
With this utility, you can access Q-Flash by either pressing <End> key during the POST or pressing the <F8> key in BIOS setup menu. No need to enter operating systems like MS-DOS or Windows first.
Caution
Before using Q-Flash utility, go to GIGABYTE website to download the latest compressed BIOS update file that matches your motherboard model. Extract the file and save the new BIOS file to your floppy disk, USB flash drive, or hard drive. And be noted that the USB flash drive or hard drive must use FAT32/16/12 file system.

edit: i removed mention of CD's because that was from an old Asus board i had(A8V-Deluxe)
