Terrible Pings since Vista install

I recently upgraded to vista 32 ultimate sp1 from XP pro sp2. Everything so far has been great aside from one thing; Ping times in online games, specifically in World of Warcraft.

Pre-upgrade, my ping times were anywhere from 50-90 depending on time of day etc. Now, my pings are anywhere from 250-500.

Download speeds are great, faster than I recall them being in XP (maybe my imagination) but the ping times have certainly changed, theres no doubt about that, and it's aweful.

Is there anything I might be able to try to improve these pings?

Here is some info about my system.
I did a clean install of Vista.
All drivers are up to date.
I am using my onboard NIC but it worked fine in XP.
Speeds are fine on speakeasy speed test (22000 kbps down 2900 kbps up)
I power cycled my modem and router just to be safe.
My specs are:
e2160 oc'ed to 3.2ghz
2gb Giel RAM DDR2800
Radeon 4850 512mb
Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
Gigabyte P35-DS3L mobo w/ latest bios (non-beta)

Any suggestions?

Disable IPv6 in the properties for your NIC. Worked for me. I also had issues with Vista losing my server during large file transfers. Immediately fixed once I disabled IPv6. Your not losing anything without it, so it's worth a shot.

So it turned out to be a problem with the game servers and not client side at all.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I did go ahead and disable IPv6 anyway.

Loving vista!!!
