k my friends pc gets an error message on bootup but loads to the main screen with no problems and runs without issues.

i feel obligated to help however as i built it and selected the components. (he was on a tight budget looking for a video editing machine btw)

parts:

- Asus P5Q Pro ATX
- seagate 500gb hard drive
- ati 3870
- 8gb ocz ram
- Q6600 (stock but with after market cooler)
- vista 64 bit

now the error message says the following:

EXPRESS GATE

ERROR CODE: 8C000002

EXPRESS GATE IS NOT INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM OR THE INSTALLATION IS INCOMPLETE. TO GET INTERNET ACCESS WITHIN SECONDS OF STARTING YOUR COMPUTER, PLEASE USE EXPRESS GATE INSTALLER TO INSTALL EXPRESS GATE.

PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE.

but it just lasts for 3 seconds and no key is pressed

second one says:

Marvell 88SE61xx Adapter - BIOS Version 1.1.0.L70d

Adapter 1
Disks Information:
No hard disk is detected!

im confused as there is no problem when vista is all loaded.

suggestions, ideas?

I think the marvell message is from the ide/esata controller chip. It can be safely ignored. To eliminate the message, disable the controller in the bios if you do not use any of the functions it supports.
