Well my system intel/nvidia system is pretty much built and i need soem avr advice. I will also use the same type of avr on my amd/ati build.
Cooler Master 830 EVO
pc power and cooling 750 quad
MSI p7n Diamond
Intel q9450
4 2gigs ocx reaper 1066
Asus dvd rom
asus dvd rewriter
2 xfx gtx 260xxx
4 120 mm cooler master fans

22" LG monitor - soon to be samsung t260 26"
Logitech z5500 speakers.

I really want a lcd and enough time for the software to shut the system down.

You should only plug the pc & monitor in the battery-backup outlets. Some ups have only backup outlets. Mine does. I plug the other things in a regular surge suppressor hooked up to a separate wall outlet.

Here's mine:

The Bulldog software does everything a UPS needs to do. Automated shutdown, cancelling a shutdown, scheduling tests, etc.

The Bulldog is binary and takes up about 4MB ram. Belkin has cheaper and less powerful UPS's, but their software is Java-based = memory hogger.

You don't have to buy the same thing. 500W or less is ok for safe shutdown. Stick to APC (best) & Belkin (good).

I understand avr/ups and was looking at APc and a cyberpower at 1500va or 900 watts. I was looking for suggestions on brands and what others think my system needs. I want to clean the power and that is why I want an AVR. In the past i have always used APC but cyberpower have been getting great reviews.

I like that build. However considering that the OCZ 700W PSU doesn't have enough connectors to be able to power more than one 5870, then save some money and change to this combo: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB & OCZ ModXStream 600W $110 with $25 rebate.
