Who wants to guide me ??

i want to build a new system and take a hand at overclocking. im looking at basing this system on the phenom 2 955BE, and i would like help in choosing other components. i am not a big gamer, so onboard video is probably fine, unless i can get something packaged (a MB and a good vid card) for the same price as a board with video on it. i was reading that gigabyte is probably going to be my best bet on overclocking. im going to do this on air for now, and will possibly go to liquid later. want to try and keep the price down also. give me advice, parts lists, opinions, anything. thanks for your help!

  1. Ok, see my profile, change the mobo for an Asus crosshair III, Asus M4A79T Deluxe, or MSI 790FX-GD70.

This mobo aren't video on board, BUT if you want a really good rig, stay away from the onboard video.

The GPU, maybe you want change for a HD 5870 or GTX285. If you change the mobo, you also need change the RAM, this are some options for a good memory like that i have, but DDR3.

  2. can you tell me what you have against gigabyte? i have read that they are readily set up for overclocking. and the dual bios. whats the bad thing about them?

if you were to recommend a motherboard with onboard video, like i said i will probably upgrade later like at tax time, what would you recommend then? im trying to build a mid range machine that i can upgrade on later. and im not so sure i NEED the ddr3 from what ive read either. then price and performance is about the same? but the boards they go into are a different story.

thanks for your time, i appreciate your feedback.
  3. Against bigabyte? nothing, just that i can't recomend this mobo 'cause i never have been owner of one.

    Mobos with video on board:
