No sound in front panel?

im using an MSI K9A2 CF mother board atm with a NZXT tempest case ( http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3911521&Sku=A406-1101 ) and when i plugged in the small wires into each different pin i still have no front panel audio.also i was missing the plug MIC-POWER i had MIC-VCC instead. i plugged that into power but after reading the mobo manual it stated that went into a different pin...and if it was placed rong it could possibly cause dmg...that should have much of an effect tho because i just want the audio jack not the mic. Anyone had same problem? or any advice is apprecaited

Probably a Bios setting.

yeah, check the BIOS but also check to see that it is enabled in windows in the sound control panel.
