Hello, Forum!
I Just registered here, hope you guys can help me out.
First off, i have no idea if this works or not, i hope so.

So i got an LCD TV (1024x768) and an 8800GT. I Want to capture gameplay on my xbox 360. I Got my TV Connected to my 8800GT, via the S-Video. (To the gfx card.)

So my question is, is it possible to record Xbox 360 gameplay via S-Video?
I heard all you need is a good gfx card, or an TV Card.

Thanks!

The 8800GT does not allow for Video In via the S-Video port (only TV-out).

Theoretically, as I have no idea if this would work, you would need a TV Card in your PC. Connect the XBox 360 to the TV Card and the graphics card to your LCD TV.

Without the TV Card, you would need a graphics card that has both Video-In and Video-Out (VIVO).

Well, the 8800GT is no slouch when it comes to graphic cards. I really wouldn't recommend replacing it with a VIVO capable card just so you can record your XBox gaming sessions.

In fact, you really wouldn't even need a TV Tuner Card, but a simple Video Capture card. I haven't looked at anything like this in years, so I really can't recommend one. I would look for a capture card that is internal (PCI or PCI-E) and accepts an S-Video or preferably a Component input (though component input on an internal card may be extremely hard to find).

P.S. I miss the Volksmarsch
