Hey everyone, I'm thinking of getting the gigabyte EP45-UD3R board for my new system and was trying to find out what ram speeds it can use. I know that 1336 and 1066 are default but I do have some 800mhz ram already and was wondering if it would also work in this board. Also the ram is 4gb of 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM from gskill. A quick answer would help me decide if I should get the more expensive ram or stick with the stuff I already have. Thanks

Your RAM should work fine (and probably better than 1066 or faster RAM).

800 will work, and you get, maybe 5-7% actual performance increase for 1066, and yet another scant 5% for 1200 - certainly not the 33%-50% that the raw DDR number suggests, and not NEARLY the % differential in price...
