ok so i've decided that it's time to upgrade my cpu. i have a celeron d and it's really beginning to show it's age. i can't spend more than $100 at the moment so i need some advice on what to buy. i'm a casual gamer and i play oblivion pretty often so i need something with enough power to handle it. anyway i've picked out a few that looked good. intel pentium dual core e2200, intel celeron 440 conroe, intel celeron dual core e1400. which one is best?

intel's website says that the 946GZ chipset supports core2duo cpus. and the socket is a plain old lga775 so i don't see why it wouldn't work.

ok, but BIOS update might still be needed for the support... I just asked because you didn't tell what mobo you had, and I'm not too familiar with those celerons (which socket/chipsets different models use and all that), You might have had some really old stuff from the nineties or something ;P
