Forum Overclocking : Intel Overclocking i7-860

So, my 1156 cooler is finally in the mail(Fenrir) and I'm ready to overclock. I am a bit new to this, though I have read Overshocked's guide and a few others on other sites. I kind of didn't want to go past the stock voltage for now, maybe like 3.2GHZ or so, if thats possible. Can I follow Overshocked's guide exactly or are something different for the 860? Any tips for me? I have the Asus Sabertooth 55i Mobo.

The guide should be the same, just make sure to disable Turbo, you don't want it to try to run at 4.2 GHz with one core. From my understanding you may get to 3.6 GHz without touching the voltage.

Keep the CPU under 70c, and the voltage under 1.4v and you should be fine. Just be patient, there is no hurry.

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
